Objective

Spell simple three-letter consonant-vowel-consonant words Students practice through a printed warm-up, then reinforce with an interactive game at their own pace.

Warm-up (5–10 min): printable worksheet

Print one per student. Work the first two items together, then let students finish independently.

• What Is a CVC Word? — Introduce CVC structure — identify, label consonants and vowels
• Spell the Picture — Recognise CVC words — fill missing consonants, circle correct spellings
• CVC Vowel Sort — Sort CVC words by their middle vowel sound into five columns

Practice (10 min): online game
