Fluency mix worksheets for Grade 1

Mixed review is spaced retrieval across earlier skills rather than a skill of its own: a few counting items, a few spelling items, a rhyme, a synonym. Its job is to stop last month's learning from fading, which is why the Daily Mix draws seventy percent from the current unit and thirty from earlier ones. Use it for warm-ups, centres and the last five minutes; the point is frequency, not length. Errors here are diagnostic — a pattern that was secure in March and slips in May tells you what to revisit. How often should I use mixed review?

Little and often — five minutes a day beats a weekly session. The aim is retrieval, not new teaching.

What mix of skills works best?

Mostly the current unit with a few items from earlier ones. The Daily Mix game uses a 70/30 split.
